Sanskrit is a dynamic publishing company established and registered in Bangkok, Thailand in 2003 under the name Sanskrit Company Limited. With a solid foundation and the support of a team of experienced business executives with background in the publishing industry, Sanskrit has quickly established itself one of the most respectable and dynamic publishers in Thailand. Sanskrit is specialized in publishing the Thai version of fiction and non-fiction international titles through publishing rights from a strong network of international publishing agencies, as well as the production of titles by renowned Thai writers. The business success has been significantly achieved through the development of a strong network of well-known translators and experienced editorial team. Titles from Sanskrit have been distributed nationwide through the country’s network of major book distributors and stores, and Sanskrit’s own book boutique. Titles from Sanskrit have consistently been on the country’s best selling and recommended reading charts.

Sanskrit’s corporate objective is to become one of the high quality and premier publishers in Thailand by providing valued publications and reading materials, both local and international titles, for the growing domestic book market. Sanskrit aims to grow with the domestic publishing market and hopes to play a part in this development by maintaining an ever-expanding readership and membership base. To achieve this objective, Sanskrit has successfully established both local and international networks that link local readers to the international book world. Sanskrit’s solid progress has been contributed to a great part by a very active editorial and production team. They are considered by Sanskrit as invaluable resources who are partners in progress, and share the strong vision for success.


Sanskrit is a member of the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand, an esteemed publishing organization in Thailand. The Association plays a significant role in developing the book market in Thailand through a range of activities especially two annual national book fairs  -- one in April and another in October.

Mr. Pirakit Valaiphatchra
President of Sanskrit Company Limited

Pirakit was formerly Deputy Business Editor of the Bangkok Post, the largest English daily in Thailand. With over 10 years of experience with the Bangkok Post working in the editorial field, Pirakit has had a strong knowledge base of the publishing industry in Thailand. Pirakit graduated with a Master Degree from the Business School of West Virginia University, USA. Besides his current position as President of Sanskrit, Pirakit is also President of the Expertise Group of Companies that operates a network of highly dynamic organizations specializing in advertising, public relations, marketing consultancy, and a printing house. Pirakit has had experience in providing communication consultation for a range of renowned international and local brands including Louis Vuitton, Swarovski, Versace, Shell Oil, Thai Oil, Piaget, Sisley, AkzoNobel, Audi, Central Department Store, Bangkok Hospital, and the Department of Export Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce.


Mrs. Payom Valaiphatchra
Managing Director of Sanskrit Company Limited

Payom is known as a creative powerhouse with decades of active involvement in journalism, publishing and public relations in Thailand. She was the founding editor of Outlook, the lifestyle section of the country’s top English language newspaper, the Bangkok Post, where she spent 21 years of her career life. As a journalist, she was honored with the Outstanding Writer Award by Siam Environment Association in recognition of her pioneering role in environment reporting in Thailand.

Among Payom’s proud international achievement was the award she received from the ASEAN Secretariat in 2008 as a lyricist of the song “The ASEAN Way” which was chosen in the region-wide competition as the ASEAN Anthem.

Payom is currently also a top executive of Syllable Company Limited, a reputed public relations consultancy, which is an affiliated company of the Expertise Group of Companies. A former exchange student of the US under the AFS Intercultural Programs, Payom graduated with a degree in Political Science from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, and received professional training at the Times School of Journalism in Singapore.


 Mrs. Payong Kangwansura

Payong has had long years of experience working in various editorial capacities at the former Bangkok World daily, an affiliated publication of the Post Publishing Company Limited, and also at the Bangkok Post. After more than 10 years with the Bangkok Post and the Bangkok World, Payong joined the Expertise Group of Companies and has played a key role in the production of many corporate publications for local and international clients of the Group. Payong’s active roles in Sanskrit have contributed significantly to the establishment of professional operational standards of the company’s book production.


Ms. Naiyana Ratanawan
Vice President and Editor of Sanskrit Company Limited

 Naiyana has played an important role in the day-to-day operation of Sanskrit with her main focus on editorial and business development. She is known for her keen eyes on selecting the right titles that appeal to the Thai readers. With her principle of working in complete harmony with translators, editorial and creative production team, Naiyana has consistently produced successful titles for Sanskrit’s ever-expanding base of readership. Prior to joining Sanskrit, Naiyana has had many years of experience in the hospitality industry, and as creative, client service and media management at Expertise Advertising, an affiliated company of the Expertise Group of Companies. Naiyana enjoys reading, writing and traveling, and Sanskrit is her ultimate dream venture.
